Colombian Artistic Ceramics Encounter

When we talk about ceramics, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking of it solely as a traditional craft, linked to artisanal production and functionality. For many years, that was the prevailing perception in Colombia. However, a decade ago, a group of artists and scholars decided to challenge that perspective and create a space for dialogue, research, and creation: thus, the Colombian Artistic Ceramics Encounter (ECAC) was born.

Since its first edition in 2014, the ECAC has grown exponentially, becoming a key event for those seeking to rethink ceramics from a contemporary perspective. Each edition has brought new challenges and perspectives, ranging from the exploration of ceramic sculpture to the connection between ceramics and technology, ecology, and historical memory.
